"Driving for Surviving" Melanoma Golf Tournament The Foundation will not be holding a golf tournament and silent auction in 2011, but we still welcome your donations to help us "touch a life." The Foundation touched more lives than ever before at the NBC 4 Health and Fitness Expo at the Washington, DC Convention Center on January 13-14, 2007. This is the largest such event in the country and attracted more than 80,000 people. The Foundation partnered with volunteers from INOVA Life with Cancer and the dermatology practice of Dr. Roberta Palestine to distribute more than 12,000 sunscreen packets as well as educational literature on skin cancer and cancer support programs. On the 14th, we were joined by Miss Maryland 2006, Brittany Lietz, who signed autographs, posed for pictures and helped to communicate our message of sun safety and melanoma awareness to thousands of people.
